Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical photo shoot last?

Typical shoots last anywhere from 1-2.5 hours, depending on the size of the home/property.

When and how do I get my photos?

Your photos will be processed, edited and shared via email with a DropBox link typically within 24-48 hours of the photo shoot, after payment is received. All products will be conveyed electronically, no tangible goods will be transferred.

What do I need to do to get the property ready for the photo shoot?

Please do the following:

-Clean and de-clutter the home as much as possible. Remove items from counter-tops and magnets from the refrigerator.

-Turn on all lights, replace dead bulbs, open all shades and blinds and turn off ceiling fans and televisions.

-Remove valuables (ie - artwork, jewelry, firearms, etc.)

-Remove all personal identifying objects (pictures, names, etc.) to protect the identity and privacy of the home owners and family.

-Remove all children's toys, pets dishes, pet beds, pet toys etc. from areas that will be shot.

-Place trash cans and recycle bins in the garage and remove the signage from the front yard.

-All toilet paper holders should be filled and toilet lids closed.

-Mow and weed the lawn (and clean the pool if there is one) no more than two days prior to the shoot.

-Remove all cars from driveways and from in front of the home.

How do I pay?

For your convenience payments can be made electronically via the emailed invoice from Wave by credit card or bank account, or at the time of the shoot by cash or check.

What is the cancellation policy?

Things happen and we understand that. Weather can be unfavorable, the homeowner or tenant may not be cooperative, and family issues pop up unexpectedly. Cancellation and rescheduling can be done free of charge as long as we are not already en route to the shoot. If we are already driving to meet you when you cancel, there will be a 20% rescheduling fee that will be added on to the final bill.

What if I'm unhappy with the results?

We pride ourselves on the quality of our work and want all customers to be 100% satisfied.  Having said that, homes are shot as-is. It is critical that the property be "photo ready" when we arrive for the shoot. Please understand that our work will show the property in its current condition, and that post-production editing such as cleaning up debris in a driveway or yard or "fixing" flaws in the home's interior can be done at an additional charge, so long as it doesn't misrepresent the property for the listing. Every photographer, every REALTOR, and every homeowner has their own tastes and preferences in how pictures should look.  We will do our best to match our final product to your taste.  If this cannot be done via editing,  we will do an additional shoot at our own expense to try and make things right.  The happiness of our clients is our top priority.

Who owns the pictures and video that Zap Jax Photography produces?

Zap Jax Photography retains copyright and ownership of the photographs and videos that we produce. The media we provide is licensed to the client which hires us to advertise the listing of the property which we were hired to shoot. Photographs and videos which have been taken by us may be licensed to subsequent clients as long as the properties are in the same condition as it was when our media was captured.

Can I use the images for my own business's advertising?

You may use the images you receive in any flyers or websites advertising the property which was invoiced. If you wish to use any of our images to advertise your own business or Social Media pages, licensing agreements can be arranged.
